Introducing Ignite HR

18 Aug

We will be adding even more awesomeness to The HR Reinvention Experiment this year by kicking the day off with Ignite presentations.

If you are not familiar with Ignite, it is a presentation format bringing fast-paced, fun, thought-provoking ideas to the stage; a series of high-energy 5-minute talks by people who have an idea—and the guts to get onstage and share it with the world.

Imagine that you’re in front of an audience about to present a 5-minute talk on the thing you’re most passionate about. You’ve brought 20 slides, which advance every 15 seconds whether you’re ready or not. You have a few last-minute butterflies, but off you go—and the crowd loves it. Welcome to Ignite.

Ignite HR will be about unleashing the format and energy of Ignite on the world of Human Resources.  We will leverage the passion and power of the Ignite format to light a fire of HR Reinvention.

We have set aside about an hour, the morning of Friday, October 21st for a handful of five minute Ignite presentations…so, we will soon be seeking presenters. You do not have to be a professional speaker or even an amateur speaker…you just need to be passionate about an idea and willing to speak to it in front of a group of your peers.  One of the reasons that Ignite is such a powerful vehicle for change is the great diversity of speakers, topics, styles and presentation experience.  Check out a few of the videos on IgniteShow.com

5 minutes, 20 slides, 15 seconds per slide.  As far as rules go, that is about all there is.

Our theme for Ignite HR will be “Putting the Human back in Human Resources.”  Got an idea, a question, a solution or practice that connects to that in some way?  If so, you should think about being one of our Ignite presenters.

Stay tuned here for a formal call for presenters as well as sponsorship news related to Ignite HR.
